We're trending!   Last week House of Matriarch participated in Downtown Seattle Nordstrom Fall 2015 Beauty Trend Show. At this seasonal event, the Nordstrom beauty department reveals what is on trend in Beauty and the season's must-haves. 

Of course, being a new product in the department made House of Matriarch a go-to for the event. Beyond that, House of Matriarch perfumes are relevant because of trending demand from customers for more natural products and meaningful luxury. Shop our fragrances trending in Nordstrom here.

The Beauty Trend Show also gave us the opportunity to meet the other brand founders who had been invited to present at Trend, like Dr Robb co-founder of Clairsonic.

 House Of Matriarch High Perfumery was also premiered during Downtown Seattle Nordstrom Customer Rewards Night holiday shopping party last week! This after-hours VIP shopping experience gave us the opportunity to connect with our customers in a more personal setting.

 And as usual, Christi made fast friends with the DJ <3

TASTE TV has announced that House of Matriarch’s “We Believe in Magic"  video marketing campaign for the Nordstrom 2015 retail launch has been previewed and named as a finalist for the Ferrara Flame Award for Best Branded Video Promotion/Campaign and also for Best Branded Program.

We share this honor with our director and branding team, GIRVIN Design, product stylist Michael Kennedy, producer Jennie Lake and cinematographer Jenessa Joffe of Thousand Faces Media, and cinematographer Adrian Rhetoric of Lamda Entertainment.

Launching FITNESSENCE at the Emerald Cup

Last week we launched the first fitness-optimizing fragrance, FITNESSENCE at the Emerald Cup Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition in Bellevue Washington.  Lots of people were attracted to our booth, all with a fabulous, upbeat energy about them. Both men and women resonated with the ancient technology that we presented, and everyone loved the smell.  Many people felt the effects immediately, and some circled back for more. It was so well received that at the end of the expo we only had one full size bottle plus an almost empty tester remaining!

We were thoroughly impressed at the quality of people that were attracted to what we were doing. Attendees and contestants alike were knowledgeable and understood the aroma chemistry that make FITNESSENCE the next x-factor to your workout.

Inspirational, Rosie is 72 and one of the most senior competitors at the Emerald Cup.
We can't wait to read her new book, go Rosie! 
 

To top it all off, it was such an inspiration to be around a room full of people from all ages who are in great shape. Everyone was there with their own inner ideal of perfection, but with the understanding that absolute perfection is unattainable, and proud that they have worked hard and done their best. It truly takes so much going into a competition like this knowing that there is only one top winner, yet many competitors do it for the sport of it. Even more motivating is that while they are competing, they are also supporting each other.

A competition like this gives off a whole different level of energy. It is real. This is the sort of thing House of Matriarch likes to be a part of. Emerald Cup competitors bring true effort and value into what they do, much like what we believe in putting into each of our fragrances.

Gloria Mohninger, one of our first official FITNESSENCE full bottle customers,
is amazing at 49 years young.

 

Lastly, a huge thank you to Elaine and Brad from Craig Productions for inviting us into their world. A fitness-optimizing fragrance is a totally new concept and they were completely open to letting us join the show. We were proud to be one of the only local companies representing a product on the floor.

“FITNESSENCE” The first PREWORKOUT fitness optimizing fragrance!

Bellevue’s High Perfumery, House of Matriarch, has partnered with emerging fitness and lifestyle brand ProFusion Labs for the launch of “FITNESSENCE”, the very first aroma-therapeutic 'fitness-optimizing' fragrance to be brought to either the fine fragrance or fitness markets.

Chemist, NASM Fitness Trainer and Founder of ProFusion Labs, Hermes Ormeni studied the aromatherapeutic effects of natural essences which could be measured to offer specific benefits.  In his research, he found that frankincense, black pepper, and vetiver worked to increase oxygen in the brain and at receptor sites throughout the body, improve coordination and balance, and benefit cardiovascular function when inhaled or applied dermally. House of Matriarch “Nose” and Fragrance Designer Christi Meshell designed the fragrance from the very finest quality essences, selecting the proper ratio of each essence for a synergistic therapeutic effect. The result, she says was “a gorgeous smelling perfume which is well balanced and rounded. It’s Nature's work. I am thrilled with the scent and excited to be at the tipping point of this new classification of fragrances we are creating.” 

Clinical data aside, test marketers of FITNESSENCE reported that using the fragrance pre-gym brought pleasure to their fitness ritual and delivered on it’s promise to improve their workout. Once female test subject became euphoric during her fitness routine, and she demanded a take-home vial of the fragrance.

FITNESSENCE is 98% natural and organic, with a gender neutral scent. The aroma is green and refreshing on the opening, spicy and earthy on the drydown.....somewhat cooling with a woody, amberesque finish. Ormeni emphasizes “Fitnessence hugs the skin rather than radiating out like synthetic body sprays so it’s even okay in ‘fragrance free’ zones."

House of Matriarch is the premier fragrance house in the US for natural, private label fragrances, and will be producing the perfume to their high standards. BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY PERFUME - NEW Liquid Music Track

Have you ever wondered what Richard Ashcroft was walking towards in The Verve's famous music video for their hit "Bittersweet Symphony"? We believe he was headed for a chocolate shop: what else could explain such a singular focus?
Our latest Liquid Music track embodies the broody and melancholic overtones of that epic urban hymn with an unexpected, bitter opening of henna, dong-quai and spikenard.  As the lyrics scream "I can change" so does the perfume, from bitter to sweet, breaking out of the mold of today's cloying mainstream chocolate themed fragrances.  
 
A chorus of blended teas, bittersweet Dutch process cocoa and alluring spices invite the sharp tones to linger, and they lend a very special magic to the bitter chocolate accord.  Bourbonesque charred woods, hints of warm amber and a touch of oud create a velvety, harmonic drydown that takes a full five hours to develop on the skin and lasts overnight.
