House of Matriarch Founder and Perfumer Christi Meshell has been proclaimed as "one of the most gifted Noses in the world". Jaws drop when it's revealed that this rising star of the luxury fragrance genre has received absolutely zero classical training.
Christi arrived at her station as one of the preeminent Creative Perfumers in the world by way of magic.
"Scent driven" for her entire life, (20% of the population is) it was not until she reached the juncture in her mystical studies where she worked her way through the natural correspondences of the celestial bodies, signs, musical tones, crystals, the Kabbalah, Chakras and other spiritual systems that she was "activated" as a Perfumer.
Christi had already amassed an enormous collectionn of essential oils which she had been collecting for a lifetime. Once she began arranging them in ways that had special, even magical meanings the essences and blends activated her further.
Essence became the Holy Grail of her spiritual studies - it held answers, questions and possibility. It was like some kind of magical healing language she had toned for lifetimes. She dedicated an entire wing of her home to her passion, wrapped up a lucrative 15 year career as a real estate broker on Seattle's upper Eastside and dove straight into creating House of Matriarch.
Perfumed candles came first: they became very popular and custom orders from "those who knew" were pouring in. Energy Workers, Astrologers, Musicians, even Orisha Priests could feel the magic the candles possessed due to the intentioned arrangement of the notes. One fateful day someone commented on how they would love to own a perfume that smelled like one of her candles. Everything clicked - since that day in 2009 she has dedicated herself to the High Art of Magical Perfume Making. She has established the House of Matriarch brand to share her message of beauty, magic and healing with the world.
The first perfume, Matriarch was launched on Christi's 36th birthday, in 2009. It was a simple blend of just 36 notes. Now her creations can consist of 300 or more individual essences and are named among the highest quality perfumes on Earth.
