Black opens with pine resin

"Black opens with pine resin and balsam, giving a sharp, green, foresty snap layered over dark, resinous oud-leather. The heart develops into a rich, earthy leather, grounding the soft, smoky-sweet incense that quietly wafts up from the skin. The dry down shifts to a mineralic tang, creating a meditative drape of incense-laden forest with a hint of oceanic breeze. TL;DR: Meditative and mysterious, but comforting at the same time."

Black No. 1 seems to

"Black No. 1 seems to have changed some. The Black No. 1 I received is more of a rough suede. I remember there being more pine and woods. A nice forest floor with a slight leather in the background. Now, the leather is completely upfront and it stays there. I do realize that this happens when the perfumer uses high levels of naturals. The longevity of Black No.1 also has changed. Beforehand, I could smell Black No.1 for hours on end. This also might be attributed to the high levels of natural oils. I'm not saying that the previous Black No.1 had less. I think it's more of how my skin reacts to certain oils. Woody's last forever on me as do pine-infused scents. Do I enjoy my new bottle of Black No.1, very much so. It's very very manly."
