Cedars of Lebanon is a rare and sacred essence no longer used in perfumery since the forests were decimated thousands of years ago. It possesses the compound himachalene in astonishing proportions which conveys it's aromatic, healing and even magical capabilities.
House of Matriarch received an ounce of this rare oil from an artisan distiller. Otherwise the oil is unavailable, and when found, it's usually mislabeled atlas cedar and not the real thing. House of Matriarch is planting cedrus libani trees across the Pacific NW to help replenish the species. If winter storms bring branches down, perhaps we will be able someday to create another vintage. Until then.........
