DAYLILY - NATURAL FANTASY FLORAL - NEW HIGH PERFUMERY FROM HOUSE OF MATRIARCH

Love at first sight. A single day lily with voluptuous crimson petals, illuminated by the Summer Solstice sun drew her in. When Christi breathed the rapturous aroma of the flower, she was surprised and delighted by perfume it possessed. She purchased the plant (a crimson blackbeard variety) which still had many blooms left to open and studied the aroma as the rest of the buds unfurled in the week that followed.

Each part of this beautiful flower is captured herein. The complete dry down takes place over 12 glorious hours, just as the fragrance of a day lily changes throughout it's one-day long life. Pyramidal smelling notes are unlisted as this perfume is blended so that none of the notes are singularly apparent, a true quintessence novel to your Earthy senses.

"...This smoked tea and lemon blossom nirvana lasts for about three hours. The florals have faded a bit, but the essence of the lemongrass is still present. Some lactones along with the vanilla invoke a feeling of sweet cream. The fragrance becomes very grounding and soothing, like a perfect cup of tea with milk. The lemongrass keeps it from becoming too heavy. The oud adds to its contemplative nature. I have to admit, I’m smitten..." -Enchante

House of Matriarch is pleased to announce what Perfumer Christi Meshell is calling one of the "most exciting projects" she has ever released.

SEATTLE, WA: 25 years have passed since Laura Palmer, the troubled coquette who worked at the perfume counter of Horne's Department Store in David Lynch's Twin Peaks, made her impression on the minds and hearts of an entire generation. Since, the resounding echoes and haunting chords of the soundtrack have kept her memory and the mysteries surrounding her death brewing in the collective consciousness. They also ignited the creative inspiration for a collection of perfumes both "wonderful and strange".

Residing near the Snoqualmie Forest where the series was filmed, our Perfumer has a deep knowing of how the dark woods depicted in the series would smell. In a video of Angelo Badalamenti, the composer of the famous soundtrack, he recounts the story of how he and David Lynch sat together at his piano to co-compose the soundtrack. As she followed along, Christi began to imagine the aromas which seemed to accompany the famous question still being asked: "Who killed Laura Palmer?"

Deep and powerful chord of western red cedar heartwood with melodic overtures of black currant over a baseline of leather, copaiba and incense. Yes, this is a red perfume, naturally colored by the red cedar heartwood.

Base notes of oud and natural heliotropin (both forbidden and rare) provide structure for the minor chord of coumarinic deerstongue and blue lotus. A cloud of powdery iris beurre wisps in like a velvety dream, further softening the mood.

We're trending! Last week House of Matriarch participated in Downtown Seattle Nordstrom Fall 2015 Beauty Trend Show. At this seasonal event, the Nordstrom beauty department reveals what is on trend in Beauty and the season's must-haves.
